News analyst Britt Hume has caused a furor.  He participated in a recent discussion panel on Fox News. The topic turned to the sordid mess that swirls around golfer Tiger Woods.  Mr. Hume spoke of the forgiveness available through faith in Jesus Christ.  He further suggested that Tiger might seek God through Christianity and find that forgiveness for himself.  Hume acknowledged that Tiger was Buddhist but pointed out that the forgiveness of which he spoke is not part of the Buddhist perspective.  Howls of protest were long and loud.

Had Britt Hume suggested that Tiger go into rehab for his ‘sexual addiction,’ meet with the Dali Lama for spiritual guidance, and do a public mea culpa via the talk-show circuit, knowing nods of approval would have been his reward.

But he dared speak of  Jesus.  What a Neanderthal!  Right?

Haitian Relief Support

Our church gifts for Haitian relief will be funneled through Brent Gambrell Ministries. Funds sent will be used to help rebuild an orphanage operated by the ministry. Our Youth have a personal connection to this ministry through their participation in the Terra Nova conferences the past two years. NBC nightly news recently highlighted the ministry’s efforts in their news coverage of the quake’s devastation.
