Losing Grip on God’s Way

Perseverance of the Saints is is a Biblical truth. Once we have been saved and sealed by the Holy Spirit, nothing can snatch us out of God’s hands. However, losing our way and backsliding is a reality. Sometimes our human weaknesses, the flow of life events, or our propensity to stray from truth causes us to lose our grip on God’s way. As the hymn says: “Prone to wander, Lord I feel it. Prone to leave the God I love. Here’s my heart, Lord, take and seal it. Seal it for they courts above.

Where to Turn? What to Do

It was the Psalmist’s self-centeredness that was very much to blame for his protracted inability to discern God in the events swirling around him. He demanded to walk in the sunlight because he felt he deserved it and, as a result, the light had no way to penetrate his own sense of self-righteousness. When he remembered God in His glory… When he reached to God in His grandeur… When he     rejoiced in the God of such greatness…

Then – then – the clouds of his desperation began to dissipate.

‘The Gospel Project’ Underway

The School for Christian Studies is offering The Gospel Project  for all adults @ 6:00 p.m. on Sunday nights. The study  covers the great stories of the faith with an emphasis on God’s provision of redemption through Jesus Christ. Join one of the SCS groups and let these ‘old’ stories give ‘new’ meaning to your walk with the Lord.
