Deacon’s

Deacons at Alton are spiritual leaders of the congregation charged with the responsibility of assisting the Pastor in ministering to the congregation and carrying out the overall mission of the church. The group endeavors to encourage the spiritual growth of other men in the congregation through their sponsorship of “Shoulder-to-Shoulder” – an organization of men who have not been ordained to Deacon Ministry but who have a servant’s heart and a desire to serve.

The Deacons rewrote the Church Covenant with a renewed emphasis on our corporate commitment to each other as members of the Body of Christ at The Church on the Hill.
