Rick Shannon brings a wide range of experiences to his ministry at Alton Baptist. In addition to his ministry endeavors, Rick has experience in operating a business and seven years service in public school both as a teacher and counselor. His ministry has afforded him the opportunity to serve in eight different churches including time as a staff member and as a bi-vocational pastor before assuming full-time pastoral responsibilities.

Rick brings an energetic and uplifting style to the pulpit ministry. His sermons are strongly Bible-centered but filled with life-application principles. He strives to help worshippers hear a word from God on Sunday that can help them in life situations on Monday.

Rick is a graduate of Georgetown College and holds Masters Degrees from both Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and the University of Louisville.
